I am able to offer Therapy and Assessments for individual adult clients, both in person at my office in Calgary and virtually across Alberta and Nova Scotia.
I am dedicated to providing compassionate and professional counselling. My goal is to empower individuals to navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth through evidence-based practices. My practice is focused around utilizing an integrative approach of several commonly used modalities (SFBT, ACT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and EMDR.)
We will work together to find a personalized approach that leads to improvement in your life, your way. I look forward to hearing from you.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It's a type of therapy that helps people heal from emotional distress and symptoms caused by difficult or traumatic experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses specific techniques, like guided eye movements or other forms of rhythmic stimulation, to help the brain process and make sense of memories that are stuck or overwhelming.
What is it useful for?
EMDR is especially helpful for people who have experienced trauma, such as abuse, accidents, or loss. It is widely used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research also shows that EMDR can be effective for anxiety, depression, phobias, and other emotional challenges. Many people find that EMDR helps them feel less burdened by past events and more able to move forward in their lives.
If you’re struggling with anxiety or depression, you’re not alone, and help is available. Therapy provides a safe, supportive space to talk about what you’re experiencing and learn new ways to cope and feel better.
